Questions still surround a recent motor vehicle crash that resulted in serious injuries for a 2-year-old who was ejected from an SUV near the Alamance-Guilford County line. That 2-year-old was said to be in critical condition at the time of a local news report. Another 2-year-old and a 17-year-old were also ejected from the vehicle, although their specific conditions were not disclosed. In all, seven people were occupying the vehicle when the accident occurred. Not many details were released, but it is known that two of the occupants were said to be in stable condition.
All seven individuals involved in the crash were taken either to Moses Cone Hospital, Duke Medical Center or UNC Hospitals. The 39-year-old Greensboro woman who was driving at the time of the crash apparently lost control of her vehicle, which left the road and rolled numerous times, coming to a rest on the right shoulder of the roadway.
State troopers said the woman had recently moved to Greensboro, and she now faces charges of driving with a revoked license, failure to maintain lane control and a child restraint violation. The troopers said that all seven people in the vehicle were related, but it wasn't entirely clear how they were related.
When an accident like this one occurs, family members deserve to know exactly what the causes were. Since children are especially vulnerable after an injury, they need special protection from their caregivers to help ensure that due compensation is pursued. A parent or a loved one may pursue a personal injury claim in an effort to cover the financial repercussions of a serious injury, as well as compensate for any pain and suffering that may have resulted from another person's negligent or reckless behavior.
